Peter Crouch admits he’s a massive fan of Chelsea’s Cole Palmer.

Cole Palmer, who’s just 21, is settling very quickly into life at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea did cough up £40million (BBC) in the summer to sign the attacker from Manchester City, which did puzzle plenty of supporters at the time. However, that deal is now looking like a very shrewd one from the club.

We’re seeing the left-footed playmaker cement his spot in the starting line-up and become a main creative threat.

Crouchy is impressed

Peter Crouch has highlighted Chelsea youngster Palmer as a major positive in Mauricio Pochettino’s side right now.

He told The Peter Crouch podcast: “I was at Chelsea last week against Brentford and they were poor. They were decent first half, and I thought Cole Palmer was really impressive. I really like him as a player. But I thought the rest… Raheem Sterling had some cutting edge, but they are short in a lot of areas I think. It was disappointing. Brentford deserved to win I think. They didn’t play great first-half, but they soaked it up and hit them on the break.”

Cole Palmer a shining light

It’s obvious that the Chelsea XI is still taking shape under Pochettino, but we’re pretty certain that the eventual best team will feature Palmer.

The 21-year-old’s showing great maturity and authority on the pitch to make things happen in the final third.

Speaking via for Chelsea’s official club website (9:02pm, 1 November), Jason Cundy said that Palmer is reminding him a bit of Bernardo Silva and David Silva. That is certainly high praise for the young talent.

Blues fans have watched now for several seasons the team struggle to score a lot of goals, but perhaps there’s a chance Palmer can help plug the hole.

He’s now coming into his own with two goals and three assists in the last six Chelsea games. It’s very useful that the English attacker can operate well as a right-winger or central attacking midfielder.

Hopefully, he can take that momentum into the upcoming Premier League games. The Blues travel to Tottenham on Monday night before hosting Manchester City in the final match before the international break.
