All Chelsea fans are all saying the same thing after Cole Palmer’s display in Brentford defeat

Cole Palmer was the only positive for Chelsea in their defeat against Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

That is according to a selection of Chelsea fans on social media.

The Blues suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to Brentford earlier today in the Premier League, which puts an end to their four-game unbeaten run.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have shown signs of real improvement in recent weeks with results and performances, but this weekend is a reality check of where this team is at.

Ethan Pinnock’s second-half header put Brentford ahead at Stamford Bridge. Afterwards, Bryan Mbeumo’s stoppage time goal made sure of the three points for the visitors.

As for Chelsea, yet again they missed a clinical edge in the final third.

Chelsea fall short
It was another big disappointment for Chelsea in front of their home fans this Saturday. It’s becoming increasingly difficult for this side at home.

Remarkably, Brentford have now won their previous three visits to Stamford Bridge.

There’s now a very difficult run of fixtures ahead in the league, so they’ll have to dust themselves down very quickly from this disappointment. They play Championship side Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, too.

We feel the absences of Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk, who were both unavailable through injury, played a part today.

Cole Palmer one rare positive
If you’re looking for any kind of consolation from today’s match, Cole Palmer’s individual display may give you some confidence.

The 21-year-old Chelsea playmaker looked the part in the No 10 position, particular in the opening first half.

His addition to the squad is definitely make the Blues a lot more dangerous going forward with his vision and creativity, but he’s going to need more help from others around him.

Here are some Chelsea fans on X praising Palmer for his individual efforts versus Brentford:
