Gary Neville sticks with bold title prediction as he reveals where Man Utd will finish
Manchester United have made a poor start to the season – and Gary Neville is worried Erik ten Hag’s side will miss out on a top-four finish in the Premier League

Gary Neville still believes Arsenal will win this season’s Premier League title – despite sitting two points behind leaders Tottenham.

The Gunners have made an unbeaten start to the campaign. They have recorded massive wins against champions Manchester City and Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United, but they have also dropped points against Fulham, Spurs and most recently Chelsea.

Arsenal are third in the table, level on points with City in second. Neville backed Mikel Arteta’s side to win the title before the season and isn’t for turning, although he’s admitted Tottenham’s brilliant start under new boss Ange Postecoglou has surprised him.

Worryingly for United fans, Neville believes Ten Hag’s team will finish in sixth this season – leaving them in danger of missing out on a Champions League spot. The Red Devils have made a poor start to the campaign, sitting eight points behind Spurs in eighth.

Neville gave his updated predictions during a Q&A on X. He backed Arsenal to win the Premier League, described Tottenham as the team that’s surprised him the most and insisted United would finish sixth. Gunners fans will be pleased to hear his prediction.

Arsenal were leading the Premier League title race race for much of last season, but Neville always knew they’d crumble at the finish line. As we now know, the Sky Sports pundit was right – but Arteta’s men will be champions come May if he’s right again.

That’s because Neville backed Arsenal to win the Premier League in August during an episode of The Overlap. He suspects it’ll be difficult for City to win the title again because no team in the history of English football have won four championships in a row.

Manchester United (1999-2001 and 2007-2009), Liverpool (1982-1984), Arsenal (1933-1935), Manchester City (2021-2023) and Huddersfield (1924-1926) are the only English clubs in history to achieve the so-called ‘three-peat’.

Neville said: “Just because of the three things and never winning the fourth, I am going to go with Arsenal to win the league. I’m going for Manchester City second, Manchester United (third), Liverpool (fourth), Chelsea (fifth) and Aston Villa (sixth).

Although Neville is sticking with his Arsenal prediction, he’s no longer confident of United finishing in the top four. The Red Devils have already lost three times at home this season, with Brighton, Crystal Palace and Galatasaray all enjoying wins at Old Trafford.
