Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho is “on the verge” of sealing a move away from Old Trafford in the New Year.
That is according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.
Jadon Sancho, who’s still only 23, was linked as a transfer target with Chelsea in the recent summer window.
The English winger ended up staying Manchester for this season, but it’s looking like he’ll be on his way out of the club soon anyway.
The Sancho saga this season has resulted in him being frozen out of the squad after refusing to apologise to United boss Erik ten Hag after their public fall-out.
As a result, the young attacker is in line for a transfer exit in January.
Former club Borussia Dortmund are viewed as “unlikely” to sign him despite ongoing conversations between the player and coach, but he’ll find a new home to play regular football again.
Florian Plettenberg reports on X: “Jadon Sancho is on the verge to leave Man Utd in winter!
“A loan is more likely than a permanent deal at this stage. Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic is in regular contact with Sancho as they appreciate each other very much.
Nevertheless, a return to Dortmund in the winter is very unlikely but not 100 % excluded for all involved.
“Most important for Sancho: He wants to play regularly!”.
We’ve seen Sancho really struggle in England to replicate the dazzling form he showed at Dortmund, so we’re not too fussed that the Blues missed out on him.
As for Palmer, the 21-year-old’s started very positively at Stamford Bridge and there’s signs the creative playmaker could become key in the line-up.
