Marc Cucurella was impressed with Conor Gallagher’s performance in Chelsea’s 2-0 win against Fulham last night.

Conor Gallagher captained Mauricio Pochettino’s side and helped them to claim all three points.

The midfielder played well and that did not go unnoticed, with Marc Cucurella replying to a post his team-mate uploaded on Instagram with the word “machine”.

On the night, Gallagher put in a real energetic and combative performance.

According to WhoScored, the 23-year-old made six tackles, more than any other player on the pitch.

Chelsea bought Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia and Lesley Ugochukwu in the summer, but Gallagher has still been an ever-present this season.

The Englishman has started in all seven of the Blues’ Premier League fixtures so far and has also featured in both of their Carabao Cup games.

Conor Gallagher a machine
Gallagher certainly is a midfielder who brings a lot of energy to the middle of the park.

With Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez both at the club, the England international will not be the most important player in Chelsea’s engine room.

And when Lavia returns from injury, he may not even be a starter for the Blues.

Nevertheless, Gallagher is showing that he does have something to offer to Pochettino’s side.

Ultimately, the midfielder may be a player worth keeping around. But if Gallagher wants guaranteed minutes and his manager cannot offer him that, then he may eventually decide to move on. But despite all of Chelsea’s recruitment, Gallagher has not complained once, so he seems more than happy to fight for his place at Stamford Bridge.
