Dean Henderson is undergoing a medical at Crystal Palace with a view to a potential move, talkSPORT understands.

Henderson has been keen to leave United this summer in search of first-team football.

Erik ten Hag made it clear that it would not happen at Old Trafford despite David de Gea leaving in July after the purchase of Andre Onana.

Plenty of teams had been interested in Henderson but Crystal Palace appear to be very much in the ascendancy.

If the deal is completed it will bring an end to a mixed time at Old Trafford that has included seven loan spells away, included two spells at Sheffield United and one at Nottingham Forest.

Henderson was named on the bench as United took on Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon at Old Trafford.

He did not come on against the side he played for last season as Onana played between the sticks in an enthralling game that ended 3-2.

Forest went two goals up in four minutes but the Red Devils managed to come back and three points with Bruno Fernandes netting the winner from the penalty spot.

And after the match, Henderson did not hang around long as he made his way to his scheduled medical straight after.

Palace had made the Englishman their top priority after Vicente Guaita told the club he no longer wanted to play for them.

Sam Johnstone has been installed as the No. 1 at the moment but Roy Hodgson wants Henderson in pronto.

United, meanwhile, are hastening their efforts to bring in a back-up goalkeeper and talkSPORT understands Altay Bayindir is set to join.

The Turkish stopper is on the verge of joining from Fenerbahce for a fee of around £5million.

He is set to be the fourth arrival this summer transfer window after Onana, Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund, while Jonny Evans could also be about to sign an extraordinary short-term contract.
