A former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh, has said Peter Obi, a presidential hopeful on the platform of the PDP, “is more formidable as a candidate than he looks as an aspirant”.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Metuh also claimed that ‘Nigerians from all parts of the country believe Obi to be the symbol the country needs’, while subtly urging the PDP to opt for consensus.
“Nigerians are looking for a leader they can believe and trust. It’s not just about competence or excellence but just all about trust,” Metuh said in a recent Facebook post.
“Our new leader does not have to be the best but at the least, he should be someone that can bring back hope. Someone that can stop the monumental fraud and corruption in our nation, someone who is stubborn enough to say no to the wrongs and at the same time attempt a holistic change.
“We need a symbol, just a symbol and we will make our individual and collective sacrifices, needed for a new nation. Intriguingly, Nigerians from all parts of the country believe Mr Peter Obi to be that symbol.
“I am tired of explaining that Senior Peter is more formidable as a candidate than he looks as an aspirant.
“Only a consensus, just a consensus. “When the come comes to become” we just need a consensus.”
