Olayomi Koiki, the spokesperson of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, commonly known as Sunday Igboho, has said that separatists “would not be fooled” by the Federal Government’s decision to reopen the Idiroko border which has been closed for three years.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the FG on Friday approved the reopening of four additional land borders shut in August 2019 as part of efforts to curtail smuggling and boost local production of rice.
A circular released by the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), signed by Deputy Comptroller-General E. I. Edorhe, on behalf of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Hameed Ali, listed the borders as Idiroko border post in Ogun State, Jibiya border post in Katsina State, Kamba border post in Kebbi State and Ikom border post in Cross River State.
The Idiroko land border has been shut since 2019 when the Federal Government ordered that all importations must be done through the seaports.
Reacting to the news, Koiki said for now, realising Yoruba Nation is more important to them than the condition of public facility.
“We won’t be fooled. All we want is Yoruba nation now, no more one Nigeria,” Koiki wrote on his known Twitter handle.
